The Quality Control Inspector schedules and performs audits and Quality Control inspections. Documents checklist results, discrepancy correction oversight, and records maintenance. Serves as liaison with client's quality personnel. Verifies compliance with contract specifications, applicable regulations, company policy and procedures. Assists Quality, Safety & Environmental Manager in performing safety inspections and documentation maintenance. Assists management and other project personnel as necessary to identify and resolve quality, safety and environmental issues.

• Monitors quality control objectives. Plays active role on quality management teams within organization. Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures. Provides inspection activity throughout project phases. Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.
• Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality. Works with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts for company use.
• Implements and evaluates programs and procedures to ensure personnel and facility safety. Monitors and controls company's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations. Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.
• Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included. Tours facility to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities; to identify and correct potential hazards; and to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Conducts air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors. Creates and directs environmental test functions.
• Assist Safety Manager with the requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds, and installs, or directs installation of, safety devices on machinery. Conducts or coordinates safety and first aid training to educate workers about safety policies, laws, and practices.

• Three to six years related experience in Quality Control as it pertains to workload, meeting quality standards and assisting with creating corrective actions by offering suggestions based on previous work experience

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
