Alpine Fresh is currently looking for a motivated and driven International Sales Assistant . This is an exempt position within the Sales Department where we focus on teamwork and task completion rather than fixed work schedules. The primary duty of this role is office/non-manual work directly related to management or general business operations of the employer.

As the International Sales Assistant, you will report directly to the International Account Manager. The ideal candidate will need to be well versed in ocean freight logistics, including trucking, coordinating with packing house, and vessel planning. Also, this candidate will have the ability to process sales orders, both by air and sea.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verbal/written communication with suppliers & transportation agencies.
• Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and manage contracts with carriers.
• Respond to and resolve complaints and problems.
• Keep sales team up to date on shipping carriers, routes and rates, and any changes to them.
• Communicate with truckers, dispatch trucks, follow through on orders, make bookings with ocean carriers, vessel planning.
• Sales order processing; coordinating export documentation; transportation and logistics; processing high volume of sales orders (AIR/SEA) quickly and efficiently.
• Follow up the purchase orders or orders placed with customers, so that the requested materials are delivered, to meet customer requirements.
• Develop and manage strategic plans, budget, volume, and revenue objectives, ensuring targets are met while controlling sales initiatives, in order to achieve budgeted goals.
• Build market intelligence, by analyzing market conditions as regards to supply and demand, to identify new opportunities for growth.
• Perform product allocation when demand exceeds supply, handling and processing of sales allowances, in order to increase sales revenues.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2-3 years of experience in fresh produce or perishable food item sales (i.e., large retailers, wholesalers, food service and small independent customers).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Advances level of computer skills and applications
• Knowledge of export transportation and logistics
• Shipping management including dispatch of sales orders
• Vessel planning/scheduling/tracking
• Management shipment of a high volume of sales
• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment showing initiative as an independent worker and team collaborator
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,500.00 per year
