Alpha Baking Company is Hiring a Sanitation Near Chicago, IL

Job description :

KEY RESULT AREAS:

This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and the plant environment. The successful candidate will only use safe methods and practices.

Required qualifications, skills and experience :

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Knowledge of sanitation master schedule
Clean and sanitize production line operating equipment (ovens, mixers, etc.)
Clean and sanitize baking equipment including bins, trays, etc.
Operate floor scrubber to clean concrete flooring
Sweep and mop work areas
Perform housekeeping duties including, restrooms, lunchroom, offices, conference room, etc.
Discard all corrugated, inedible food and other packing material

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Knowledge of pest control
Operate a trash compactor
Read a weight scale
Operate a baler

Knowledge of production line operating equipment

Knowledge of equipment assembly

Knowledge of chemicals, chemical color coding system and chemical handling

Knowledge of how to read MSDS

Work weekends or overtime as assigned
Commit to a continuous improvement work team environment.
Other duties and/or projects assigned.

SCOPE DATA:

Area of impact – plant, plant grounds, and surrounding area as assigned

WORKING RELATIONSHIP:

Necessary to work as a team supporting and communicating cooperatively with team member within the department and with other members of the production line and maintenance.
Position interfaces with all department leads and machine operators to determine extent of sanitation needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Be able to lift / push 50; more than 50lbs will require two people.
Able to work on feet for the entire shift.
Perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, and climbing

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent
