National Construction Rentals is Hiring a Route Driver-Sanitation Near Chicago, IL

Job Summary: Drive sanitation service truck to various job sites, clean and empty portable restrooms and maintain them to National Construction Rentals, Inc. (NCR) standards. Represent the company in a friendly and professional manner. Report any problems and/or potential problems to Dispatcher in a timely manner. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions: 1) Provide world class customer service and greet each customer with a professional, friendly and positive attitude. 2) Drive company vehicle to job sites to service portable restrooms and maintain them at NCR standards. 3) Replenish all goods, such as restroom paper, seat liners, and paper towels, soap, water, hand sanitizer, if applicable. 4) Perform work in a safe manner and participate in safety meetings. 5) Perform daily inspections of vehicle and complete Vehicle Inspection Report and notify the dispatcher before leaving the yard. 6) Maintain and operate company vehicle and equipment safely. 7) Use GPS navigation system effectively. 8) Immediately report any accidents or damage to supervisor. 9) Perform duties safely at all times, maintain safe and clean and safe work area, and attend all tailgate and trimester/quarterly safety meetings. 10) Perform other duties and/or tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or General Education Development certificate (GED) preferred, or one to two years related experience or training. Skills and Abilities: 1) Requires working from detailed instructions and occasional decision-making. 2) Assignments are primarily task oriented and include detailed instructions for performing them successfully. 3) Ability to read, analyze and interpret general documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedural manuals. 4) Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 5) Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.

  • Licenses/Certificates/Registrations: Must have a valid Non CDL C or Class A/B driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record within company guidelines. Positions that require driving a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. or more requires the incumbent to be at least 21 years old and possess a DOT medical card and requires the ability to pass DOT physical testing. A forklift certification is provided after hire.*

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Conditions involve working outdoors in extreme weather conditions. The nature of the work is extremely physical, which requires, but is not limited to lifting, hearing/listening holding, pulling or pushing up to 100 lbs., and long periods of standing, walking, balancing, sitting and driving. Sanitation Pumpers are exposed to working with and around moving and vibrating mechanical parts. Work involves exposure to loud machine, vehicle, and building construction noise.
