POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant reports to the Director of Financial Accounting and Reporting in the Office of the Controller. The position is responsible for multiple accounting functions including the preparation and analysis of financial statements for various programs of the University. This position will also complete accounts receivable analysis, tuition billing tables, and various balance sheet reconciliations. This position will be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset module for the University's equipment inventory as well reconciling the fixed assets monthly. This role will also assist with the preparation of the University's financial statements.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

* Performs administrative and management duties to support and facilitate the Controller's office in reviewing, planning, and implementation of various operational and financial aspects.

* Attends all staff meetings.

* Performs monthly reconciliations of gifts with the TU finance office.

* Approve requestions involving equipment purchases.

* Complete monthly journal entries for the preparation of the financial statements.

Required Qualifications Preferred Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience. Must be highly organized and have exceptional communication and customer service skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Must have strong organizational and computer skills; demonstrated ability in coordinating, scheduling, and managing an executive office environment. Proficient in Windows environment and Office 365 Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Public Accountant; experience in a non-profit or higher education enviironment

Primarily indoors. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
