PROGRAM MANAGER PURPOSE:

The Program Manager oversees Community Support Staff (Direct Support Professionals), Assistant Managers, and Support Managers, and is responsible for the overall management of several programs that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the Program Manager, your primary objective is to ensure that all individuals served have clean, safe, comfortable homes and access to activities, place, and people that enrich their lives. To do this, you will need to ensure that the Community Support Staff have the tools, knowledge, information, and support that they need in order to be successful in their roles.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Works a 40 hour, salaried, unlimited schedule consistently and be able to work extended hours to cover necessary shifts as and when needed.
  • Directly supervises more than one program/location.
  • Provides direct care, medication administration and assistance with daily living skills to the individual receiving services appropriately and professionally with respect and dignity.
  • On call 24 hours a day in cooperatio n with other management/administrative/scheduling staff.
  • Monitors and insures accurate "in house" documentation.
  • Reports, monitors and schedules house, vehicle, and IT needs.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining individual finances daily.
  • Responsible for reconciling monthly account transaction forms.
  • Monitors and maintains residential budget.
  • Completes monthly manager check list.
  • Completes group home internal audit quarterly.
  • Ensure monthly evacuation drills are scheduled and complete.
  • Ensures the emergency evacuation plan is reviewed with all staff and signed off quarterly.
  • Responsible for scheduling all medical appointments as needed and necessary follow ups.
  • Responsible for the administration and documentation of medication in the program.
  • Completes monthly case manager reports and submits as requested by case management.
  • Ensures consistent service delivery which connects work, home, and recreational needs.
  • Serves as an active member of each person's interdisciplinary team and is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of the Individual Habilitation Plan.
  • Encourages and ensures that individuals maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment providing assistance as appropriate.
  • Objectively completes staff evaluations on a timely basis as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensures two weeks of schedules (current and the following week) are consistently posted in the programs as per the licensing standards.
  • Ensure all monthly residential records and reports are complete.
  • Attends conferences, seminars, and training relevant to the individuals served.
  • May recruit, interview and hire.
  • Ensures training of new staff as needed.
  • In conjunction with the Support Managers, ensures to get all program staff trained on the Electronic Healthcare Record system for Fees for Services in a timely manner.
  • In conjunction with the Support Managers, ensures that the program staff complete all required documents of the individuals on the Electronic Healthcare Record System correctly and timely for Medicaid billing.
  • In conjunction with the Support Managers, ensures the Quality Assurance Audits successfully and consistently score a 90% rating or higher on regular audits. A rating of 89% or less for 3 consecutive reviews may result in immediate termination.
  • Successfully completes required residential training including: CPR and First Aid; Medication Administration; Preventing Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation; Shifting Expectations, Life Experience and Services; In House Orientation; Crisis Management; New Hire Orientation; and Life Threatening Emergencies (Danielle's Law) and Corporate Compliance .
  • Others duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, or
  • A high school diploma with 5 years experience in the human services field, including at least 3 years supervisory experience and 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities

AND

  • A valid unrestricted drivers license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift or transfer at least 50 lbs.
  • The ability to sit, bend, squat, reach, and stand for several hours at a time
  • The ability to read and write English
  • Advanced computer literacy.
