ALLIES is Hiring an Executive Director Near Ocean, NJ

Job Title : Executive Director

Location : Travels to program locations throughout Southern Ocean County (Forked River, Barnegat, Waretown, Little Egg Harbor), one program in Camden County (Berlin), and to the administrative office in Hamilton, NJ (Mercer County).

Status : Full-Time; Exempt

Requirements :

  • Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. social work, counseling, psychology, special education) along with seven (7) years or more experience in the human service field with five (5) years of that experience working with people with I/DD, two years of which shall have been supervisory in nature
  • Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent along with eight (8) years or more experience in the human service field with six (6) years of that experience working with people with I/DD, two years of which shall have been supervisory in nature
  • Valid unrestricted driver license with good driving record (not to exceed 5 points)
  • Proof of valid auto insurance coverage
  • Ability to lift or transfer up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, reach, be agile, physically pursue individuals on foot and stand for several hours at a time
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point

Responsibilities :

  • A 40 hour salaried, unlimited flexible schedule.
  • "On call" 24 hours a day in cooperation with management and administrative staff.
  • Works with Chief Operating Officer and/or Vice President of Residential Services to develop new, modify, and continue programs, services, and funding in the Residential Department of the agency.
  • Directly supervises the Program Managers, Support Managers, and Floating Managers/Floating Staff.
  • Available to residential staff for consultation regarding programming, service delivery to individuals receiving services and policy and procedures.
  • Organizes and attends Program Manager and Management meetings.
  • Reviews residential staffing and employee relations issues with Human Resources.
  • Interviews and selects candidates for new hire; tracks selection and employee movement in Dropbox spreadsheets.
  • Responsible for reviewing and assuring implementation of appropriate standards for licensing, and contracted level of service for programs developed.
  • Objectively completes annual staff evaluations.
  • Oversees/Monitors residential budgets.
  • Monitors required staff training, as well as relevant seminars and conferences.
  • Oversees that vehicle and house maintenance are completed.
  • Oversees the utilization of individual and agency finances in the home.
  • Ensures that the health and medical needs of individuals are being met.
  • Acts as a liaison between the individuals, community members, agency and DDD.
  • Ensures consistent service delivery which connects work, home, and recreational needs.
  • May choose to serve as an active member of a person's interdisciplinary team, to include involvement in Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP)/Individualized Service Plan (ISP) development.
  • Successfully completes required residential training including but not limited to: CPR and First Aid; Medication Administration; Preventing Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation; Shifting Expectations, Life Experience and Services; Crisis Management; New Hire Orientation; Life Threatening Emergencies (Danielle's Law); Stephen Komninos' Law; Corporate Compliance, and other required trainings as needed.
  • Participates in the development and expansion of residential programs.
  • Oversees interviewing, hiring and ensures training of new staff if applicable.
  • Ensures that Policy and Procedures with regards to the Division of Developmental Disabilities are followed.
  • Transitions individuals into new residential programs.
  • May have to work shifts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
