POSITION SUMMARY

Production assistance supports Production Manager by ensuring all raw materials arrive on time for production, all inventory is received and account for and by supporting communication with manufacturing and, services teams. This position requires extensive knowledge of purchasing, inventory control and office administration. The prefer candidate must have a hands-on attitude, a desire to learn and an adaptation to continues changes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Arranges shipping of products to customers, transfers to sister divisions and updates Business Central for item shipped. Generates shipping documents, BOL, and updates Business Central and Workfront as required.
• Work with designated brokers and shipping companies, negotiate for the best service.
• Receives materials, verifies that PO line items and quantities match packing slips upon receiving and updates Business Central.
• Count and tag all incoming inventory with Allied Modular part numbers on items received.
• Runs MRP & generates purchase orders and issues them according to the dollar authorization matrix as outlined in the corporate policy.
• Confirms, updates, and follows up on purchase orders based on vendor confirmation.
• Ensures all raw materials arrive on time for production.
• Coordinates purchase order ETA’s with Production Manager to plan shipping dates.
• Track purchase credits from vendors.
• Coordinates the purchase of office materials and supplies.
• Generates inventory reports for cycle counting.
• Responsible of accurate inventory counts.
• Assists the Materials Manager in managing minimum inventory as directed and authorized.
• Prints production folders including but not limited to the Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), drawings.
• Coordinates production ship dates with Production Manager.
• Informs Services team on manufacturing updates during production meetings using the Sales Order Report. Provide status of current projects in process including manufacturing shipping dates, material issues, etc.
• Coordinate, resolves and communicates any manufacturing issues with Project Managers.
• Records quality control forms and pictures.
• Promotes a positive working environment conducive to a team atmosphere in alignment with the Allied Modular culture.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 5 years equivalent job experience in a manufacturing/production environment. Job requires professional and effective communication skills. Thoroughness, organization, and planning skills with an attention to detail. Must be proficient using computer software, such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and database applications.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal but can fluctuate during times of production. The environment can be dusty at times.
