    Qualifications:
    • B.S. or B.A. – Elementary Education
    • M.Ed. – Reading
    • Valid and current Pennsylvania Level II teaching certifications in Elementary/ Secondary Education and Reading Specialist Certifications
    • At least five years of highly successful teaching experience with positive student outcomes.
    • Has in-depth and specific knowledge in content, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
    • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Satisfactory work record and criminal/child abuse clearances (Act 34, 114, and 151).
    Summary:
    Provides embedded professional development for classroom teachers in planning, delivering, and improving literacy instruction; assists in gathering, analyzing and utilizing data to improve student achievement; assesses and analyzes individual student assessment data; designs and implements literacy interventions; oversees literacy activities, projects and programs in the school/s.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    School/District Based Leadership
    • Assesses, diagnoses and designs interventions targeting specific student needs in the areas of reading and writing.
    • Supports implementation and delivery of ASD Literacy Curriculum in classrooms
    • Assists and serves on Leadership Teams within the school/district
    • Assists and serves on the Child Study Team within the school/s.
    • Builds school capacity by encouraging and supporting teacher leadership
    • Designs or brokers (individually or in collaboration with other) high-quality professional development
    • Provides leadership in the planning of workshops and in-service programs at the district and building level in accordance with school and district goals and mandates.
    • Utilizes a rich array of instructional approaches, resources, and technologies to strengthen literacy instruction.
    Instructional Leadership
    • Utilizes a rich array of instructional approaches, resources, and technologies to assist teachers in designing, delivering, and assessing instruction.
    • Serves as a resource for identification of instructional strategies, materials, and interventions to address diverse learning needs.
    • Provides support, mentoring, and assistance to classroom teachers.
    • Assists teachers in analyzing assessment data, planning instruction, and organizing classrooms for effective learning.
    • Assists in creating schedules and rosters for paraprofessionals and intervention periods and provides support as needed with instruction
