Inventory and Purchasing Manager

Job Description

The Inventory and Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing the inventory and purchasing functions of the company. This includes maintaining accurate inventory levels, ordering and receiving materials, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management, purchasing, and supply chain management.

• Lead Supplier Management & Procurement Process
  • Serve as the primary contact with LMC & Key suppliers
  • Ensure continuity of supply & competitive costs
  • Lead improvements to cost through effective price negotiations and mix of suppliers
  • Manage the Lumber Purchasing Team
• Manage Inventory Control Process
  • Maintaining the accuracy of all inventory records
  • Establish stocking levels and review process for inventory balances to ensure order fulfillment
  • Determine appropriate inventory turns to reduce the overall inventory carrying cost
  • Coordinate the inbound delivery of goods
  • Lead cycle counts, coordinate additional counts and perform inventory adjustments as needed
  • Utilize ERP system to manage receiving, planned orders, transfers and returns
• Participate in coordination calls and meetings
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Adhere to all safety and fire regulations
• Manage and develop good working relationships
• Support and cooperate with other Allen & Allen Co. Team members
• Maintain clean orderly work environment
• And any other duties and/or assignments as may be required or assigned

• Lumber Industry Experience – working knowledge of materials
• 3 years of experience in inventory management and purchasing
• Above average written and verbal communication skills
• Superior analytical skill
• Strong Computer Skills-Ability to use Microsoft D365, Excel, Outlook and Teams
• Self-Starter and able to work in fast paced environment
• Above average attention to detail
• Knowledge of lumber and building industry products -preferred
