The Graphic Design program at Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for possible vacancies. Positions are available as determined by need during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2024-2025 academic years.
Responsibilities and duties may include teaching one or more subjects in the Graphic Design program: 2D Design foundations on the computer, Introduction to Graphic Design; Digital Tools for Visual Media; Digital Imagery; Digital Illustration; Digital Publishing; Typography; 3D Modeling; Web Design & Production; and Portfolio Design. Successful candidates will be able to provide evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.

Lecture Rate: $57.72 to $77.18 per hour depending upon education and experience
Lab Rate: $50.28 to $67.20 per hour depending upon education and experience

Allan Hancock College is a California public community college located in northern Santa Barbara County. The college has been recognized three times by the Aspen Institute as one of the top 150 community colleges in the nation. Hancock had its accreditation status fully reaffirmed through 2023 by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Approximately 12,000 credit students enroll each semester at one of the college's four locations in Santa Maria, Lompoc, Solvang, or at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Recently, the college has undergone more than $150 in renovations and... upgrades thanks to Bond Measure I, passed by community voters in 2006. Hancock is one of the six largest employers in northern Santa Barbara County with more than 1,300 employees.
