Allan Hancock College is Hiring a Part time, Faculty - Certified Nursing Assistant/Acute Care Aide/Home Health Aide Near Santa Maria, CA

This is a part-time faculty position in the health sciences program. The assignment may include teaching evening and weekend classes at any college site including the Santa Maria campus and Lompoc Valley Center, or online, as needed. Positions may be available during the Fall, Spring, Winter or Summer sessions.

Some clinical placements may require additional immunization and health-related tests in order to operate at the clinical site. The employee is responsible to coordinate and provide this requested information to the clinical site.
  1. The instructor will evaluate and advise students
  2. Provide instruction in accordance with the CDPH (California Department of Public Health) approved curriculum
  3. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
  4. Fulfill professional responsibility of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
  5. Maintain current nursing licensure
  6. Teach classes as scheduled. Maintain accurate records
  7. Maintain current health care facility requirements including but not limited to vaccinations, TB testing.
Demonstrated currency in the instruction of certified nursing assistants
 
Candidates must have completed or the ability to complete twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing prior to start of teaching assignments for the CDPH Certified Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide portions of the program. Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students’ disabilities.
 
Demonstrated ability to develop and use resource materials and incorporate current computer technology and to use multi-media technology in classroom instruction.
 
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and present lecture and lesson materials and concepts and to assess student achievement.
 
Demonstrated ability to design, review, and evaluate curriculum and make recommendations to maintain program currency for both vocational and transfer students.
 
Demonstrate ability to identify and use learning outcomes and assessment that lead to course program improvements.
 
Demonstrated ability to work with and assist students having a broad range of skills, motivation, academic or vocational goals.
 
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communication and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
 
Demonstrated knowledge of course design and of evaluation and assessment methods.
 
Demonstrated experience implementing the interrelationship of critical thinking, reading, and writing.
 
Knowledge of diverse learning styles and teaching strategies and demonstrated experience in implementing these strategies.Bachelor’s degree and two years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse

Associate degree and six years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse
OR the equivalent.
