Emergency Services (Water Mitigation) Technician

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Water Mitigation Technician to join our team. As a Water Mitigation Technician, you will be responsible for responding to water damage emergencies, assessing the extent of the damage, and implementing effective mitigation strategies to minimize further loss. You will play a crucial role in restoring properties to their pre-loss condition and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Emergency Response: Promptly respond to water damage emergencies and be available for on-call duty as required.
    • Damage Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections of affected properties to determine the extent and nature of water damage.
    • Mitigation Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive mitigation plans tailored to each situation to minimize property damage and health risks.
    • Water Extraction: Utilize specialized equipment such as pumps, vacuums, and extraction tools to remove water from affected areas.
    • Structural Drying: Set up and monitor drying equipment including dehumidifiers and air movers to expedite the drying process and prevent mold growth.
    • Content Management: Safely remove and document damaged contents, as well as implement appropriate cleaning and restoration techniques.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all mitigation activities, including moisture readings, photographs, and written reports.
    • Communication: Communicate effectively with property owners, insurance representatives, and other stakeholders throughout the mitigation process, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
    • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets industry standards and regulatory requirements and conduct thorough post-mitigation inspections to verify the effectiveness of the process.
    • Health and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times to protect yourself, your team members, and the occupants of the property from potential hazards.

Qualifications:

    • Experience: Previous experience in water damage restoration, mitigation, or related field is preferred.
    • Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications such as IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is highly desirable.
    • Knowledge: Strong understanding of water damage restoration principles, techniques, and best practices.
    • Skills: Proficiency in operating water extraction and drying equipment, as well as excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and withstand exposure to various environmental conditions.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
    • Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
