Description
Imprimus Labels and Packaging is a well-established, highly reputable leader in the printing industry. Responsible for management and oversight of the complete production cycle, including daily and weekly production planning and scheduling to meet customer quality and time expectations most efficiently.
  • Aids in developing, implementing, and achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive performance and profitability.
  • Responsible for managing and creating an engaging environment for production employees and cross-functional partners. Oversees the department staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage and skill sets. Performs staff appraisals, coaching, and disciplinary action as required.
  • Create and document SOPs and work instructions on production processes.
  • Responsible for implementing an excellent preventive maintenance program to reduce the risk of equipment failure.
  • Monitor all production floor personnel's KPI scorecards, such as set-up, run speed, quality, downtime, breaks, etc.
  • Develop a high-energy "hustle" culture on the production floor-responsiveness to the press alarms and troubleshooting press issues.
  • Communicate daily at-shift change with production staff to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Ensures the production team properly follows work instructions, quality procedures, and safety policies.
  • Utilizes the corrective action process to establish root causes and addresses issues by implementing and communicating disciplinary action.
  • Communicate and meet with each plant personnel team member on any quality errors or concerns.
  • Gathering production data from the Label Traxx system to manage the preparation and maintenance of reports.
  • Fully participate in company Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, practice, and sustain 6S.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and Team Leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to Company challenges and issues.
  • Attend and participate in daily/weekly staff meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience is preferred, and/or ten years of work experience in the pressure-sensitive label industry is required. Lean Manufacturing and 6S experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Works in a manufacturing environment and requires wearing hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. May continuously stand for an extended period and stoop and kneel frequently. May handle, feel, and reach for items in and around the press area; write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking, lifting, and/or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required. Vision: close vision, distance, and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer-mandated deadlines. An employee must meet the physical demands described above to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
