Role Description

We are seeking an intern in our Marketing Department. Our internship program is designed to offer a hands-on learning experience that allows each intern to enrich their experience in their field of study, by engaging in industry-based learning and program-specific assignments.

Regular Tasks:

  • Assist with drafting both written and visual content for Alkemy X’s social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, website and newsletters)
  • Brainstorm new ideas for social media content or campaigns
  • Research social media strategies, social media trends, and marketing opportunities
  • Assist with recording social media analytics and community managing our platforms

This program is designed to offer educational opportunities that may include team building exercises, critical thinking and possible networking opportunities. We welcome and value the collaborative aspect of this industry and endeavor to create a space where ideas, thoughts and questions are open to respectful expression. As feedback is also integral to the learning process, assessment and evaluation occur on a rolling basis based on the assignments that are given.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate possesses a working knowledge of social media platforms, tools, and trends. The candidate should have strong communication and writing skills, be detail-oriented, as well as have an interest and understanding of social media content creation (content calendars, social media writing, graphic design) and social media analytics and reporting.

Additionally, you must be:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Social Media, or a related field
  • Available at least 2 days a week (Monday/Wednesday is preferred)
  • Able to participate in the program in person at the Philadelphia office once a week
  • Eligible to receive college credit from your college or university for your internship hours

Current knowledge of advertising, broadcast, film or commercial work is beneficial but not required.

Knowledge of the following is also preferred but not necessary:

  • Basic video editing skills (Capcut or Premiere)
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva or Adobe)

Environment and Location

This position is hybrid; split between remote and in person time on-site at our Philadelphia office located at 6th and Walnut streets.

This opportunity will only be compensated with collegiate credit. Based on individual program requirements, it is expected that the candidate fulfills at least 10 hours per week during the duration of the semester offered by their school. Any additional time would be at-will and discussed with our program director.

This position involves sitting, moving about an office space, and regularly using computer technology. Participants will frequently use one or two hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and may repeat the same movements throughout the course of the day. Participants will engage with details of objects that are less than a few feet away, and see differences between colors, shades, and brightness.

Supplemental application materials such as cover letters or portfolios may be sent to orotondo@alkemy-x.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
