The Principal Cybersecurity is responsible for organizing all sprint agile ceremonies, including scrum meetings, backlog reviews and Program Increments (PIs) across three high performing cybersecurity teams delivering critical security solutions and security posture management initiatives . This large scope of responsibility requires a seasoned candidate that will play a pivotal role in evaluating priorities and executing the deployment of critical deliverables that need to be coordinated across multiple scrums team managed directly plus also manage deliverables for resources on other scrum teams not to mention partnering with critical infrastructure resources on high priority deliverables.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Facilitating Scrum ceremonies: The Scrum Master is responsible for organizing and leading Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. They ensure that these events are conducted effectively and within the prescribed time limits.
  • Coaching and guiding the team: The Scrum Master educates and supports the team in adhering to Scrum principles and practices, helping them to continuously improve their processes and performance.
  • Removing impediments: The Scrum Master works proactively to identify and resolve any obstacles or blockers that may hinder the team's progress. This may involve coordinating with external teams, stakeholders, or management to address issues.
  • Collaborating with the Product Owner: The Scrum Master works closely with the Product Owner to ensure that the product backlog is well-maintained, prioritized, and aligned with the project goals.
  • Continuous improvement: The Scrum Master promotes a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to reflect on their performance, identify areas for growth, and implement necessary changes.
  • Monitoring project progress: The Scrum Master tracks the progress of the project using various metrics, such as sprint burndown charts and velocity, to ensure that the team stays on track and meets its goals.
  • Analysis, of complex security issues and the development and engineering activities to help mitigate risk.
  • Includes ideation, testing, proof of concept and support for various cyber related projects.
  • Includes forward looking research, planning and strategy to strengthen our stance against future cyber security threats, and enhance our mitigation techniques and technology solutions.
  • Analyzes various hardware and/or software solutions recommending purchases and identifying modifications to fit AT&Ts cyber security needs and that of our managed services teams.
  • Develops policies and procedures to minimize network intrusion, malware events and vulnerability issues for internal and external customers.
  • Applies measures to block malicious code and applications.
  • Areas of work in this include, but are not limited to: Cyber Incident Response, cyber prouduct testing, cyber risk & strategic analysis, cyber research, cyber awareness & training, cyber vulnerability detection & assessment, cyber intelligence & investigation, cyber networks & systems engineering, cyber security application testing, cyber digital forensics & forensics analysis, cyber software assurance, cyber business operations & support, cyber application development & testing, cyber operational support, cyber IoT planning & testing, cyber policy & requirements & standards.
Qualifications
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or Cyber Security or equivalent experience.
  • Requires 8-10 years of related experience.
  • Requires a subject matter expert who is routinely sought out for advice and guidance regarding Scaled Agile and/or Agile processes and implementation.
  • Agile Mindset : A strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, along with the ability to adapt and apply them to different situations, is essential.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical for facilitating collaboration, resolving conflicts, and ensuring transparency within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills : The ability to lead, inspire, and motivate team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement is crucial.
  • Problem-solving Skills : Being able to identify and resolve impediments or obstacles that may hinder the team's progress is an important skill for a Scrum Master.
  • Time Management Skills : A Scrum Master must be able to effectively manage their time and prioritize tasks, ensuring that Scrum ceremonies and other responsibilities are completed efficiently.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Building relationships and working effectively with diverse team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Requires on-site presence (3-5 days a week) at one of the listed locations. No relocation assistance is provided for this position.

Our Principal Cybersecurity earns between $141,300.00-$237,400.00., Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
