Job Description
The Admissions Counselor is a key member of the admissions team who will help achieve the enrollment goals for Alfred State. They will build and expand upon educational partnerships with students, parents, school counselors, and community organization representatives. Information concerning all aspects of Alfred State will be shared both on and off campus. Responsibilities include interviewing potential students and personal follow up with assisting students through the admissions process. Participate in recruitment activities on and off campus. Review applications for admission. Involvement in on-going admissions programs and projects. Assignments will depend on the needs of the office and the talents of the individual. Recruitment travel in the fall and spring is required.

Minimum Education, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor's degree
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work with diverse populations
Ability to work as a team member as well as the confidence to work independently
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
Strong work ethic
Valid driver's license required.
Preferred education, skills, and abilities:
Master's Degree
Experience working in a college setting with diverse student populations including transfer and online students
Familiarity with university-related technology such as Banner and CRM software
Knowledge of SUNY and Alfred State
