Job Summary

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring order of the library is maintained and assess to library resources is provided.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of library policies, procedures and techniques

Knowledge of media organization, the electronic card catalog, Dewey Decimal Classification System and library indexes

Knowledge of work processing, databases, technology, data entry and office management

Knowledge of office practices and procedures

Ability to use MS Office Products, including Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

Effective communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal

Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervision

Ability to plan, schedule and organize work

Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks concurrently Essential Job Functions Assists the Director in the operation of the NLLR

Ensures efficient operation of the center in the absence of the Director / Librarian

Assists in the circulation of Center materials

Assembles and organizes library materials and resources

Assists students, faculty and other patrons Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Office Management, Business or related area

One (1) year of Public Service experience Licensing and Certifications N / A Physical Requirements Work in noisy (above 85 decibels) areas No Sedentary Work - Exerting 10 pounds Daily Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds Daily Medium Work - Exerting 20-50 pounds Occasionally Heavy Work - Exerting 50-100 pounds Not Required Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds Not Required Travel Occasionally Extended Work Hours Occasionally
