Job Summary

The incumbent plays an essential role in providing programmatic leadership, implementation, evaluation, and reporting for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in the areas of nutrition education, food safety, and physical activity for selected sites in the community.

He / she supervises SNAP-Ed Educators and collaborates with various stakeholders to deliver effective programming. Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge
  • Nutrition and Health Education : Deep understanding of nutrition principles, food safety, and physical activity guidelines.
  • Community Needs Assessment : Methods to assess the needs of target populations. ·
  • Curriculum Development : Familiarity with developing or adapting educational materials. ·
  • Policy and Systems Change : Understanding of influencing policies and systems for health promotion.

  • Teaching and Facilitation : Excellent ability to teach and facilitate nutrition education effectively.
  • Leadership and Supervision : Strong skills to lead, supervise, and mentor SNAP-Ed Educators.
  • Communication and Collaboration : Ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. ·
  • Project Management : Effective organization and management of program activities. ·
  • DataAnalysis and Reporting : Skills to collect, analyze, and report on program data.

Essential Job Functions Education Delivery & Program Oversight

  • Supervises SNAP-Ed Educators, supporting their professional development and program delivery
  • Teaches and evaluates nutrition and food safety lessons using SNAP- Ed approved curricula
  • Conducts engaging food demonstrations and adapts materials for diverse audiences

Training & Capacity Building

  • Recruits and trains SNAP-Ed Educators, community volunteers, and partners
  • Employs the train-the-trainer approach to expand program reach.

Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Builds and maintains relationships with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders
  • Actively engages with partners to establish and implement SNAP-Ed initiatives.

Outreach & Assessment

  • Conducts community needs assessments to tailor program offerings
  • Develops outreach strategies to increase awareness and participation

Curriculum Development & Adaptation

Collaborates on the development and adaptation of SNAP-Ed curricula and supplemental materials.

Policy & Advocacy

Advocates for policy, systems, and environment changes that promote healthy lifestyles

Evaluation & Reporting :

  • Collects and analyzes program data for impact assessment and reporting
  • Prepares regular reports for the Program Director

Grant Writing & Fundraising :

Supports grant proposal preparation and fundraising efforts.

Marketing & Communication

Develops promotional materials and manage program visibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, health education, public health, or a related field. Master’s degree or above is strongly preferred.
  • 1 year experience in community-based nutrition education, program delivery, and volunteer management a team.
