Description
The Human Resources Specialist is the first line of communication for visitors and vendors to the plant and acts as the receptionist and provides support to the Human Resources team. This position is essential to customer service and the administrative processes.
Duties and responsibilities
· Answers phones and transfers calls, takes messages, and relays information to callers and visitors.
· Greets vendors, visitors, and applicants as they enter the facility. Provides excellent customer service.
· Assists employees on basic HR issues, moving them up to the HR team as appropriate.
· Accepts applications, conducts screening interviews, schedules interviews with hiring managers.
· Posts openings on job boards and manages resumes/applications.
· Process, verify and maintain employee records and related documentation.
· Engages with Spanish speaking employees, visitors, and guests.
· Complete E-Verify employee checks and all I-9 related tasks.
· Assist with planning and deployment of employee events.
· Updates bulletin boards and other notification postings to employees.
· Maintains employee requisition requests and coordinates opening of new or replacement positions.
· Coordinates with temporary agencies to fill open positions.
· Enthusiastically orients new employees regarding company functions, culture, benefits, hours of work, pay day procedures, and policies.
· Orders office supplies
· Maintains personnel files.
· Process daily call-in logs
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required
· High School Diploma.
· Intermediate computer skills in MS Office: Word, Outlook (Create and send email and meeting invitations) Excel (enter, sort, filter, create basic formulas, save files), PowerPoint (can present onboarding materials and edit when needed)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to groups
· Integrity
· Highly organized with stellar follow-up skills
· Initiative: self-starter and proven ability to overcome obstacles
· Customer Service and Team oriented.
· Organized and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
· Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
Preferred
· Some college
· 2 years Human Resources experience
· Ability to read and speak Spanish fluently.
