Albanese D&S, Inc. is Hiring an Utilities Construction Superintendent Near Boston, MA

Albanese D&S, Inc., is a General Contractor based in Dracut, MA that specializes in underground utilities, pump stations, and road reconstruction with projects ranging in value from one million to fifty million in the New England area. We are looking for an experienced project superintendent in a full-time position to add to our team.

PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

A Project Superintendent is responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of a construction project in the field. He/she is responsible for ensuring that a project is completed on time, within budget, and according to contract specifications and standards. The successful candidate needs to be able to combine technical knowledge, leadership skills and effective communication to ensure that the project is completed safely, on time and within budget.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Project Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with the project management team to develop a detailed construction plan and schedule. Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project requirements.

· Resource Allocation: Coordinate with subs, suppliers, and construction crews to allocate labor, equipment and materials and monitor all resource utilization to ensure efficient and timely project completion.

· Team Management: Supervise and direct the construction team, provide guidance, resolve conflicts, and promote a safe working environment.

· Quality Control: Ensure that the construction work meets the required quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections, monitor progress, and address any deviations or issues promptly.

· Safety Compliance: Recognize that safety is a top priority and enforce safety regulations and protocols. Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards and promote a safety conscious culture among the team.

· Progress Reporting: Keep management informed about a project’s progress, prepare regular daily reports, updates on schedule, track quantities, timecards, equipment hours, safety reports and project look ahead.

· Change Management: Address unexpected design modifications or unforeseen site conditions by coordinating with the project management team, updating plans, and ensuring necessary adjustments are made to maintain project continuity.

· Problem solving: Identify and resolve problems that may arise during project execution and use experience and expertise to find effective solutions to always keep the project on track.

· Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and project engineers. Communicate project updates, address concerns, and maintain a positive relationship with the client throughout the construction process.

· Cost Control: Monitor project costs through the implementation of cost saving measures, work closely with the project management team to control expenses and ensure the project is constructed as planned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Minimum of 3-10 years of experience in underground utility construction

· Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management

· Positive work ethic

· Strong attention to detail

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to muti task and organize documentation and details.

· Experience reading and following construction plans and documents.

· Computer literate and capable of using all Microsoft Office products.

· Knowledge of Heavy Bid a plus

License/Certification:

· Driver's License (Required)
