The Community Health Center Network (CHCN), sister organization to the Alameda Health Consortium, is made up of the eight federally qualified community health centers in Alameda County. CHCN functions as the managed care MSO for our health centers, contracting with the Alameda Alliance for Health and Anthem Blue Cross. In order to help our health centers meet their missions of providing the best possible care to their communities, we also provide a broad range of training, technical assistance, quality improvement, information technology, and data analytic services.

Salary Range: $22.46 hour to $27.07 hour
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for the daily accounting functions of the organization to include reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, data entry into QuickBooks, generating EDD reports, filing and other duties as required.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS

Maintain filing system for finance and accounting functions, including all copying, scanning and filing for the department;
Ensure accurate fee for service disbursements by checking vendor information and research discrepancies with staff from other departments;
Prepare and submit report to EDD online reporting every 20 calendar days;
Export and format fee for service checks to import into QuickBooks weekly;
Generate, research, and update Stop Loss Patient reports for management review;
Perform reconciliation of bank statements for the purpose of ensuring monthly close activities are completed in a timely manner;
Prepare monthly account reconciliations spreadsheets and QuickBooks backups
Responsible for monthly Office Supplies inventory tracking.

Ability to perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner while complying with agency policies and standards.

Essential Requirements
Minimum two years college with courses relating to bookkeeping, accounting or finance.
Minimum two years experience working with QuickBooks, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Experience with computerized information systems and other software programs are highly desirable

Possession of valid drivers license
