Bright Key Resource School Coordinator


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in a field directly relevant to the duties required of this
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a project coordinator or similar position in a business, nonprofit organization, government organization, or educational
  • Demonstrated experience with, understanding of, and commitment to working with children

FLSA: EXEMPT

REPORTS TO: Principal and District Bright Key Coordinator

SUPERVISES: None

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in and (as required) lead school needs assessments, program meetings, and planning sessions to help identify student, family, and community needs that directly impact the academic, social, physical, mental, emotional, and general success of children and
  • Assist in identifying and securing resources (service providers) to work in the schools to meet the identified
  • Assist stakeholder teams in targeting the expected outcomes for the services and programs invited into the Able to recommend reasonable methods to effectively measure those outcomes. Work with DCS to insure timely and accurate collection of qualitative and quantitative data identified for the school’s Bright Key initiatives.
  • Assist the project developer and DCS leadership with the service provider contracting Maintain and update contracts for all partners and providers associated with the program
  • Establish activity schedules for Bright Key activities, working with teachers and other school staff to minimize disruption to the normal teaching/learning
  • Discuss all provider contracts with the school Principal prior to finalizing
  • Coordinate all Bright Key activities with the school Principal to insure they are in keeping with the effective learning climate he/she has set for the individual
  • Personally, supervise and coordinate programming for students, families, and the community both during and beyond the traditional school
  • (In the absence of the school Principal) Assume primary onsite responsibility for the safe, secure, and orderly operation of the programs and the school physical
  • Orient all Bright Key providers to the rules and regulations of DCS and of the individual school, monitor and insure compliance, and report any violations of these rules and regulations to the school principal and project
  • Facilitate communication and relationship building with Bright Key stakeholder
  • Schedule, assist, and monitor volunteers working with the Bright
  • Serve as the key information contact person for the nonschool day schedule. Work with personnel assigned to handle public relations for the Bright Key to provide accurate and timely information about programs, services, and meetings. Maintain individual school Bright Key website pages. Monitor Facebook posts for accuracy of information about the school
  • Prepare monthly reports for submission to the school principal; the DCS district office, and the Wiregrass Assist the Project Developer with annual and other assessments and reports for formative and summative purposes.
  • Participate in professional development as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Project Developer, the Director of Elementary Education, and/or the Wiregrass

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated skill and experience in networking, organizing, scheduling, and supervising multifaceted programs. Prior experience leading community outreach programs preferred.
  • Understanding of the developmental needs of children/teens. Understanding of public schools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to interact effectively with demographically diverse participant
  • Highly organized, self starter, and able to multitask.
  • Familiarity with collecting data and writing
  • Computer skills sufficient to generate documents, databases and spreadsheets and to effectively access the Internet and major social media
  • Available regularly to work evenings, weekends, and school holiday and summer
  • Ability to hear and see student participants; mobility to move quickly around a school building and its surrounding physical
  • Understand and agree to follow all laws, regulations and rules that apply to administrative employees and contractors working in Dothan City
  • Agree to and successfully pass a background check as required for in school administrative personnel in the State of

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
