Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years experience in commercial or mortgage lending or equivalent experience is preferred. The best qualified candidate will have experience operating in a lending sales environment including finding, developing, and servicing new relationships. Experience as an agricultural or commercial loan officer to include originating, coordinating and negotiating business transactions for both long and short-term credit with an emphasis in credit extension, administration and related lending activities is a plus. The candidate should have strong analytical skills to maintain sound credit underwriting standards and evaluate and structure loan proposals.
Excellent interpersonal, public relations and communication skills are required.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for new business development and servicing a portfolio of existing production agriculture and real estate customers. Promotes the association through community involvement within the service area and establishes business relationships with agricultural producers, business leaders, and rural land owners while cultivating these relationships to expand lending opportunities. Travel required.
Makes and services existing loans within delegated authority and in accordance with association policies. Responsible for applying sound credit administration procedures in processing loan applications, analyzing records and determining the eligibility and scope of financing for new loans and ensuring verification of assets and liabilities. Makes and clearly conveys decisions on loan approval, structure and pricing to customers and management. Secures and documents background and credit history on loan applicants. Responsible for credit risk management duties for new and existing loans. Maintains awareness of agricultural trends and business activity, FCA regulations and legal obligations. Reports to and assists the Monroeville VP Relationship Manager in accomplishing goals and objectives.
At the discretion of Alabama Ag Credit, position may be offered at alternate titles and other business experience may be considered relevant.
