The Purchaser must ensure all PO’s are entered into the system for the maintenance department, ensure that supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements, and conduct cycle counts. The purchaser will also manage physical inventory throughout the facility.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Evaluate suppliers for feasibility
• Evaluate suppliers for Aker BioMarine requirements
• Negotiate vendor pricing
• Verify purchases and recommend alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products
• Interact with suppliers for availability, delivery schedules, and resolve shipment errors
• Assist manager in authorizing payments and maintenance of records
• Execute purchase orders
• Manage vendor contact lists
• Manage up to date contractor certificate of insurance files
• Develop vendor relationships
• Prospect new vendor accounts
• Interface with contractor personnel and evaluate contractor time clock program
• Maintain waste manifest catalog for up to date filings
• Manage service agreements for suppliers
• Assist the inventory team with cycle counts, adjustment research and negative item counts
• Other duties as needed

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related Software
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds

Education and Experience

• HS diploma
• Must have 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing and purchasing
