Customer Service Representative

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00PM

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.00; Depending on experience

Location: West Knoxville, TN

Primary Responsibilities of Customer Service Representative:

  • Promotes Company in a professional, honest manner (to include personal appearance and dress).
  • Answer incoming telephone calls in a timely manner; determine purpose of call and forward call to appropriate person or department
  • Take and deliver messages or transfer calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable
  • Provide callers with address, directions, and other basic information as requested
  • Greet customers and visitors; assist customers as needed
  • Receive, sort, and route incoming mail and administrative documents
  • Collect and send administrative documents and reports to appropriate corporate personnel
  • Order, receive, and maintain office supplies
  • Perform administrative support tasks such as printing invoices, writing receipts, completing online registrations, scanning purchase orders, and filing documents
  • Represent and promote the company in a professional and honest manner at all times, including personal conduct, behavior, and appearance
  • Participates in all training activities as appropriate
  • Provides appropriate support to managers as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • MUST BE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF KNOXVILLE TO ASSIST WITH SCHEDULING DELIVERY ROUTES.
  • Answering incoming service calls (high call volume of around 500 or more weekly).
  • Creating service tickets--needs strong attention to detail regarding Serial Numbers and Model Numbers.
  • Dispatching/scheduling dispatching efficient call routes for two (at current) service techs.
  • Ability to handle/diffuse and remain calm in stressful circumstances; For example, understanding a customer is calling because there is a problem with their appliance. Be willing to listen and gather information.
  • Possess characteristics of being a part of a collective team (assist front receptionist answering store lines when the front receptionist is assisting another customer whether on the phone or in person).
  • Business casual dress High value for the customer service experience whether on the phone or in person.
  • Ability and expertise to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Reliable in attendance and good work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn any additional responsibilities.

Requirements of a Receptionist:

  • Three years of customer service, or administrative experience preferred
  • High School diploma; some college/vocational training preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Basic business administration and accounting knowledge helpful
  • Knowledge of database software, computer application systems and ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Must have analytical, business planning, problem solving, communication, motivational and interpersonal people skills.
  • Ability to speak effectively in one or more group settings
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; tasks may include lifting, bending, squatting, standing, sitting for prolonged periods of time.
