Aileron Management is Hiring a Hotel Food and Beverage Manager Near Huntersville, NC

Description

The Four Points by Sheraton Charlotte-Lake Norman is looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to manage all food and beverage operations while providing guests with excellent customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for overall management of the food and beverage department.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor food and liquor requisitions and food waste.
  • Supervise the production, preparation of all foods for the hotel.
  • Menu development for quality and customer satisfaction, including new item development and seasonal offerings
  • Compliance with food safety, brand and company safety and service requirements, including maintenance, sanitation of all preparation and service areas to ensure quality presentation of food and beverages.
  • Implement changes as needed to attract new and return business and to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Manage service aspects in all food and beverage areas and events and greet guests.
  • Ensure that all service staff are in proper uniform and adhere to the hotel’s appearance and grooming standards.
  • Hire, manage and train staff in all aspects of their role including standards of quality and service.
  • Create, maintain and distribute weekly schedules for staff and communicate changes as necessary.
  • Communicate with service and kitchen staff regarding reservations and/or special events.
  • Conducts pre-shift, pre-meal and/or pre-event meetings with all necessary staff.
  • Make rounds of all food and beverage outlet to ensure guest needs are met.
  • Conducts monthly beverage inventories and quarterly china, glass and silverware inventories
  • Open and close Food and Beverage outlet.
  • Control costs of all food and beverage department in purchasing, maintaining effective profit and loss controls and monitoring labor costs following demand patterns, budget and local labor laws.
  • Maintains accurate daily and weekly punch details for service staff and processes daily sales reports and other reports as requested
  • Maximize food and beverage sales by identifying and targeting sales opportunities through marketing including promotions and special events and by training staff on “up-selling.”
  • Train staff in and adhering to all safety, sanitation, food preparation, food storage and alcohol beverage control policies including confirming legal drinking age and discontinuing service to intoxicated guests.
  • Maintain guest satisfaction by handing inquiries, concerns or comments and providing solutions; acquiring feedback from guests and co-workers to ensure satisfaction and/or implement service improvement ideas; developing new concepts to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
  • Maintain consistency of service by being aware of and prepared for all course events, large parties and reservations that may affect food and beverage service operations.

Requirements

  • Food and beverage management experience required.
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor hotel and kitchen environment. This job continuously uses standard food service and cleaning equipment and chemicals. This job is occasionally exposed to fumes, gases, odors, dust, and biohazards. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, supplies or equipment; reach with hands and arms overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping; climb stairs; communicate or listen. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, pull or place cleaning food products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
