Position Summary:
NPAP Engineer is responsible for leading/coordinating product development team activities within Ahresty.
Scope of Responsibility:
Lead the AQP Team activities, coordinate launch schedules both internal and with AWC suppliers, lead with Engineering FMEA development and implementation in order to ensure a smooth launch of new products and design changes
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Daily Management:
o Lead AQP Team activities to meet customer expectations and follow through to implementation and start of mass production.
o Develop, with Engineering, and assure the implementation of the P-FMEA. In the failure to obtain approval from customer, develop other methods and resolve the potential problems with AQP Team.
o Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality supplier activities and development
o Assists in the development of new customer dunnage and outsource dunnage
o Coordinate improvement activities for below target items during new model development into mass production
Improvement Activities:
o Communicates productivity targets of new products and implement plans to achieve these targets.
o Applies Deming principles and other root cause analysis tools when analyzing problems within the associates department and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements.
o May participate in a Quality Circle improvement team when possible.
o Performs other related improvement functions as assigned.
Education/Experience/Training (minimum required):
o 4-year college degree (preferably mechanical, industrial engineering or similar) or 4-years of program management experience.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good organizational skills; good problem solving skills with experience in the use of analytical tools.
o Strong knowledge and use of Excel and Word, Internet and email.
o 4-years Die Cast or Machining experience.
