Job Title: Structural Design Engineer II 

Department: Design Engineering 

Reports to: Manager, Structural Engineering

Location(s): Philadelphia, PA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The design engineer will join a dynamic team of structural engineers to support the activities in P145 including: 

• Prepare designs, manufacturing and installation drawings of sheet metal and composite assemblies

• Liaison with hangar mechanics and electricians to ensure any drawing issues are resolved and updates made as needed

• Preparing data packages to support aircraft modifications 

• Reviews documentation, technical requirements, specifications, design documents, work instructions, test plans, test procedures and

technical reports (for STC and/or -337 certifications)

• Support investigations and aircraft installation issues, including In-Service aircraft

• Prepare Bill of Material from AWPC and LHD drawing, support Procurement office for part ordering, interface with vendors and suppliers as needed 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education

 - Bachelor Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Structural Engineering

Experience

 - 0-3 Experience in structural designs of aircraft installations/alterations and drafting and development 

of engineering drawings. Previous experiences in aerospace company (desirable) 

Technical skills:

 - Knowledge of engineering design and GD&T

 - Knowledge of 2D and 3D mechanical and structural modeling (Solid Works or Catia V5 preferred) 

 - Knowledge of AutoCAD (desirable)

 - SAP (preferred)

 - Microsoft Office Suite 

 Soft Skills:

- Highly detail-orientated with high degree of accuracy 

 - Ability to liaise with others to meet deadlines 

 - Strong written and oral communication skills

 - Ability to work in a team and with other teams in the company
