Summary of Responsibilities

Our Creative Engagement team meaningfully engages our older adult clients in their own homes, retirement communities, adult family homes, or out in the community. Each visit is tailored to each individual client with clearly outlined goals developed in collaboration with the Director of Creative Engagement and/or the assigned care manager. Creative engagement visit activities range from art projects, reminiscence through photo albums or music, scenic drives, and visits to museums or other cultural institutions

The Creative Engagement Specialist (CES) works under the supervision of the Director of Creative Engagement. This is a full-time, non-exempt salary position. 

Essential Functions

  • Collaborating closely with the assigned care manager and Director of Creative Engagement to determine goals and responsibilities for client visits.
  • Conducting visits with a commitment and focus on the National Organization for Arts in Health’s Code of Ethics.
  • Completing detailed case notes summarizing each CE visit within 24 hours.
  • Navigating challenges and complexity by identifying issues and generating pragmatic solutions with a balance of critical thinking and urgency.
  • Advocating to ensure best possible outcomes for clients, families, and allied professionals.
  • Presenting oneself as an allied professional in the field.
  • Participating in professional advancement opportunities for the enrichment of self, company, and field of arts in health.
  • Displaying an ongoing commitment to learning and self-improvement; attains knowledge and competency that reflects current practices in the field of arts in health.
  • Engaging in actions to drive successful goal attainment and consistently produces strong results despite day-to-day challenges.
  • Demonstrating a clear sense of ownership for work quality and delivers on commitments.
  • Addressing difficult issues and situations, expresses a clear point of view, and stands by what is right, even when uncomfortable and unpopular.
  • Gaining the confidence and trust of others by demonstrating honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Adhering to conventions of spelling, punctuation, and grammar with professional and thoughtful written communications.
  • Leveraging appropriate communication methods in the context of the scenario, relationship, and audience level to establish value.
  • Building trusting partnerships and working with others to share information and resources, solve problems, and produce better outcomes.
  • Enabling cooperative and productive group interactions.
  • Valuing inclusivity and equity, and respecting the rights of colleagues, clients, families, or client representatives who have different beliefs, opinions, cultures, and customs.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Professional or life experience working with older adults is essential.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of dementia and other major issues of aging is preferred.
  • Certificate in Gerontology a plus.
  • An ideal Aging Wisdom teammate is flexible, calm, energetic, organized, efficient, responsive, responsible, detail-oriented, willing to ask for help, and enjoys having fun at work.

Compensation 

  • $52,000-$57,000 Depending on experience
  • PTO (accrual begins immediately
