Verbio is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Process Engineer, for its biomethane and ethanol production facility located at 59219 Lincoln Highway, Nevada, IA 50201.About VerbioThis location is the site of the former DuPont cellulosic ethanol facility. At this site, VERBIO produces biomethane (renewable natural gas) from baled crop residues and ethanol from corn. Future growth will include an expansion of the biomethane process and retrofitting of the ethanol facilities.Position PurposeThis role will specifically focus on ensuring the successful operation of the facility by development and implementation of fermentation strategies, process troubleshooting, PSM, key performance indicator development, and managing site process engineers. This is a full-time salaried position including health, dental, vision, 401(k), vacation and other employee benefits.Essential Functions

• Provide team leadership and direction to Process Engineers.

• Lead fermentation strategies for the biorefinery.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement to improve process control, quality yields, and reduce defects.

• Develop and use key measures that drive performance for each unit operation.

• Develop process improvement plans based on data and communicate information throughout the organization.

• Be part of the team that drives safety improvement and participate in the development of safety programs.

• Participate in equipment specification and procurement for the biorefinery and provide technical expertise.

• May be asked to facilitate investigations using techniques such as RCFA, FMCA, and the 5 Why’s.

• Provide technical support during unplanned events and planned outages.

• Contribute as a team member to develop the process for the biorefinery.

• Help support and develop Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID’s for the facility.

• Develop and participate in PSM programs and general safety programs.

• While in development, participate in engineering, procurement, and construction for the biorefinery.

• Participate in process PHA and PSM audits and own action items.

• Participate in planning and execution of plant commissioning activities.

• Participate in operating procedure development.

• Participate in the development of the standard operating conditions of the facility and consequence of deviation.

• Understand and help develop material and energy balance.

• Management of site process engineering resources.

Qualifications

• 4 Year Chemical Engineering Degree (or related)

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
