Position Summary :
As the Payroll Delivery Lead you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of payroll projects within the organization.
This position requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, systems, and regulations, coupled with strong project management skills to drive project execution from initiation to closure.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of functional expertise in payroll operations and proven experience in project delivery within a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities :
Utilize comprehensive knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and industry best practices to drive project requirements and solutions.
Work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements, translating them into actionable project plans.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on payroll-related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate project activities, including requirement gathering, testing, deployment, and post-release support, to ensure smooth and timely delivery with minimal disruption to payroll operations.
Manage risks, issues, and dependencies related to payroll releases, proactively identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks to project success.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and define acceptance criteria for payroll system changes.
Measure and monitor progress to ensure release scope is delivered on time and meets or exceeds defined quality stage gate criteria
Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, and status updates to provide transparency and alignment on release progress, issues, and decisions.
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to payroll systems and processes, incorporating relevant insights into project planning and execution.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
10 years of experience in functional, with a focus on payroll system implementations, upgrades, or releases.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, release management practices, and change control processes.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functional teams and organizational levels.
Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
Formal training in project management practices for both waterfall as well as Agile / DevOps methodologies
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
Interact and deal effectively with all levels of employees while maintaining a professional manner; willingness and effectiveness in challenging the status-quo.
Payroll system certification is a plus.
Maintains a positive work environment through teamwork & conflict resolution
