AGCO is seeking a talented, passionate, and highly motivated professional to join the engineering team as a Controls Engineer in Assumption, IL. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of electrical controls, mechanical and electromechanical products, and systems for various conditioning product lines. This includes coordinating and engineering standard product lines, custom designs, and engineering-to-order products. Demonstrates the ability to complete tasks and projects within a budget and deadline. Works well within the team setting, openly shares perspective in team meetings, and contributes to discussions in a constructive manner.
Your Impact
  • Understand and verify product requirements and cost targets
  • Design controls using PLC/HMI programming, data acquisition/IoT, and testing to meet product control requirements
  • Overall responsibility for electrical schematics/drawings, control panel design, and bills of materials for control system designs
  • Develop and implement control system product enhancements and cost reductions as well as testing methods for finished products, including troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Coordinate/perform product tests on concept and prototype builds
Your Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience required
  • 2-5 years of electrical and control design experience
  • Hands-on experience programming PLCs & HMIs for control systems; with motion control, drive systems, analog & discrete sensors, industrial networks; and project experience, competency to diagnose and troubleshoot control systems components, sensors, hardware, and software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of SCADA systems, NEC regulations, UL, CSA, CE, NEMA and other industry standards and codes; Proficiency in AutoCAD and Creo; experience with C , Python, and Linux
