PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Account Manager is a Field Sales Representative who reports to the Regional Sales Manager and is responsible for generating profitable sales growth in an assigned account base/territory. This person will develop new and existing accounts by providing industry leading customer service, becoming a trusted resource for our customers and by their overall product/technical knowledge.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
FINANCIAL:
- Achieve the individual assigned sales objectives for top and bottom line
- Show prudent utilization of corporate travel and expense dollars.
PERSONNEL:
- Pursue professional development through seminars, product training and related education. Become an expert in all key lines we distribute.
- Maintain professional decorum.
- Develop and maintain personal relationships with customers, vendors, principals, independent manufacturer’s representatives and sub-contractors.
- Must have the highest character evidenced by sincere, honest and ethical behavior.
- High degree of self-discipline and motivation, including organizational skills, persistence and leadership.
- Participate in marketing activities including Trade Shows, Lunch and Learns and other lead generating tasks.
- Become involved in local industry affiliations like NFDA, MFA etc.
- Support principals and their rep’s with joint sales call activities
OPERATIONS:
- Understand the Aero-Space Quality Policy and apply it to all job duties.
- Display effective handling and resolution of customers requests and inquiries.
- Call on customers to sell products and provide services.
- Complete Daily Call Reports (DCR's).
- Update Weekly Calendar. Call Plans & Agenda.
- Turn in detailed expense reports in a timely manner.
- Work with Inside Sales to present customer quotations in a timely manner.
- Update customer account profiles in CRM
- Perform annual forecasting and business planning for the assigned territory/account base
- Assist quality with customer corrective action requests
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma with three to five years of Field Sales experience, or four year college degree in business/marketing.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The individual must possess, at a minimum, the following abilities:
- Dependability (8 hours - daily)
- The ability to see and hear, the ability to communicate verbally in a clear and concise manner, and the ability to read and write.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to drive.
- Interpersonal skills required to function both independently and as a team player.
- Understanding of basic Computer Functions and Software essential to job functions, such as: MS- excel, word, outlook, and a willingness and ability to learn additional as required for job functions.
- Time management.
