Aegis is Hiring an Assistant Site Supervisor Near Chicago, IL

POSITION INFORMATION: BASIC DETAILS

Pay Range: $50,000 - $60,000 Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Job Summary:
Provides overall support for clients, site personnel, vendors/subcontractors, and works with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for support and guidance. Has working familiarity with all job functions and duties of the shelter. Provides oversight for all assigned personnel. Assists the Site Supervisor to ensure the shelter runs efficiently.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Some of your duties may include:
  • Ensures compliance with all contracts, performance work statements, working instructions, etc.
  • Assists the Site Supervisor with site surveys and signs off on site for initial acceptance and after demobilization of the shelter.
  • Ensures shelter is returned to the original/or better condition.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
  • Processes Requisitions and ensures Operations/Warehouse are notified of deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Ensures staff are trained in completing appropriate forms/journals.
  • Works with Safety Officer to provide weather updates, provide storm updates, and ensures a daily safety briefing is conducted with staff.
  • Works with Human Resources to provide guidance on personnel matters, personnel conflicts, performance counseling, and employment determinations.
  • Reports Daily PERSTAT to Shared Services office.
  • Ensures staff members are properly scheduled and operations run efficiently.
  • Ensures staff members record time appropriately.
  • Ensures all shipments are complete, accurate, and recorded properly in Tripwire Inventory Program.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a field environment, previous emergency shelter management experience is preferred.
  • Must be familiar with general office equipment, computers, phone systems and scanners. Must be experienced with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritize competing requirements.
  • Familiar with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Working Strong candidates will have a familiarity with shelter construction, generator maintenance, mobile showers units, mobile laundry units, mobile kitchen units and HVAC units.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contract documents, or governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Preferred Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Incident Command System (ICS) Certifications (ICS 100/200/IS 700.B etc.)
  • Trade certifications/licenses e.g., electrical, generator maintenance, HVAC, etc.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements:
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach during shifts. Employees may also be required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
