Job Summary
Responsible for HOA product design, rate level, and risk selection design that delivers a profitable loss ratio for carrier partners and overall profitability for Mission Select. Acts as subject matter expert for Texas Homeowners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and introduce new program offerings and / or revisions to current product offerings, including but not limited to coverage enhancements, endorsements, rate structure, and utilization of 3rd party underwriting data for risk selection and rating.
- Coordinate preparation of TDI filing exhibits with internal and external resources, with overall responsibility for regulatory approval of underwriting and rating of product.
- Provides oversight in testing / implementation of product changes.
- Responsible for evaluating the loss and rate adequacy at peril and rating factor level.
- Works with carrier / reinsurer and actuarial to proactively manage loss ratio, delivering target underwriting margin.
- Manages multiperil catastrophe exposure / risk aggregation to minimize CAT loss.
- Expert in competitive and regulatory landscape Texas.
- Can effectively delegate tasks and manage program reviews to completion.
- Regularly communicates with carriers, actuarial/modeling support and internal management to propose program revisions.
- Coordinates and collaborates with marketing and sales force to actively manage and grow profitable producer relationships.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Expert Texas Homeowners line of business.
- Command of policy form / endorsement options.
- Establishment of key program metrics and monitoring of the same.
- Independent, self-motivated, project oriented work style.
Education/Experience
- Bachelors in Math, Analytics, or Business (preferred) and or equivalent work experience.
- CIC, INS, CPCU and or insurance license is preferred.
- MBA/Technical Master’s degree.
- Minimum 10 years as Product Manager, or relevant combination of industry experience.
