Position Description

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and well-being of the facility including its staff, tenants, and guests. This individual will act as a liaison between our client and their staff and site personnel. Further responsibilities include the coordination of facility operations, and acting as a resource to our client in following and ensuring that their policies and best practices are being met every day.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Control the entrances and the movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Monitor and inspect security and fire exposures.
• Escort material and personnel.
• Patrol via standing, driving, or walking the buildings and its perimeters.
• Patrol physical property or maintain fixed post position, being diligent to report any suspicious activity and investigate accidents and criminal acts.
• Monitor cameras or equipment in a continuous fashion as outlined in the post orders.
• Establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments.
• Maintain a professional image that includes greeting customers, visitors, and employees in a polite and friendly manner.
• Proactiveness in knowing all revisions to post orders and general information distributed by the site and Aegis Protective Services.
• Complete Daily Activity Reports, Logbook entries, Incident Reports, and all relevant reports related to job assignment.

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of qualified experience as a security guard or security officer.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Must meet all requirements for employment including criminal and civil background checks, drug tests, state-certified training, fingerprinting, state-licensure attainment, and all other TN Labor and Workforce Development requirements.
• Must meet and pass all property-access requirements for the Nashville International Airport.
• A neat, professional appearance.
• Excellent professional interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to professionally problem solve.
• Work well in a team-driven environment.
• Ability to push, pull, or carry – at times – up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Duties other than those expressly specified may be assigned from time-to-time.

Successful candidates must demonstrate a solid work history incorporating the areas described above. We seek an individual with strong leadership skills for this position and those individuals with credentials proving relevant experience.
