Department: Special Event Sales & Operations Reports to : Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships Classification: Full-Time/Exempt
Summary/Objective This position is responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of the large scale, non-baseball revenue.

  • Develop and oversee all major stadium events such as concerts and large-scale non-baseball sporting events. Duties to include sourcing event, conducting opportunity analysis, negotiating contract, coordination with promotor (and other departments within the Club), marketing the event and settlement with promotor.
  • Guide strategies for all non-baseball revenue events and ensure alignment with organizational goals by driving disciplined return on investment analysis. Develop business cases and proposals for current and new events including market potential, financial projections and feasibility assessments.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and diversify the department while pushing to meet/exceed departmental goal; additionally, will oversee department budget, including revenue and expense forecasting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally with live event promoters as well as governmental agencies.
  • Hire department staff and facilitate organization's goal of creating a first-class environment for clients/guests through all phases of the event planning/execution.
  • Identify and recommend new/creative ideas for driving organizational revenue.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent number of years of experience.
  • 10 years of revenue generation/event management.
  • Proven track record of leading successful large-scale revenue generation efforts.
  • Strategic thinker who can excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience relationship builder both internally and externally.

Supervisory Responsibility This position manages employees of the special events department (sales and operations) and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment Position will work in an office and stadium environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Must be able to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions and within a stadium environment.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, use vision to see and hearing acuity (with adaptive aids if necessary) as well as exercise manual dexterity type, handle and feel. Physical exertion includes bending, pushing, standing, and walking - sometimes for long periods of time/distance - as well as using hands and arms to reach. Must be able to move or lift approximately 25 pounds on occasion.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to the nature of this position, the position requires hours of work and days that include frequent nights, weekends and holidays.
Travel This position could require frequent travel.
