Job Description

AECOM is seeking Estimators to be based in New York, NY. Will operate as an Estimator specializing in working directly with the NYC SCA on projects related to schools throughout New York City and the surrounding boroughs.

  • Confer with a broad range of technical, professional, and managerial personnel as well as designers, consultants, and contractors to coordinate and establish a detailed cost estimate.

  • Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and/or construction.

  • Supervise the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications, or contract changes.

  • Review and report on contract estimates prepared by private consultants; recommend if an estimate is appropriate for SCA’s implementation.

  • Participate in cost negotiations.

  • Plan, assign and review the cost-estimating work of estimates.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Due to the nature of the job, U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Requirements :

  • Specialize in mediation calculation & analysis.

  • Excellence in calculating prime time, labor escalation, and unstandardized coefficient.

  • Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental services, or related coursework.

  • 8 years of experience as an estimator

  • Relocation is not available.

  • Sponsorship is not available.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $120,000.
