You can make a difference in the life of someone special! Advocates is looking for a creative and compassionate Mentor (1:1 support staff) and teacher to work with a gifted young boy with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills, teach him skills to communicate and interact with others, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and strong organizational skills.

Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. Internet access and a valid email address are required.

Hours and days of work:

Monday-Friday (open to any day) 3:30pm 6:30 pm during the school year and flexible summer schedule

Saturday or Sunday: Open to any shift

Pay rate: $18 per hour

Location: Savannah, NY

Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency.
