Advocates is seeking a Mentor (1:3/mentor: mentee) to support three young siblings with developmental disabilities. Their mother is looking for a Mentor to ensure they are safe at all times, while working on goals both at home and in their community. Staff must be reliable as their mother cannot unexpectedly take off from work. There may be times when mentor will be asked to provide 1:1 support to give the other siblings a break from skill building. Mentor should enjoy participating in mentees hobbies; such as drawing/art and learning about science/nature in a community setting.

Goals include:

• Personal care/hygiene skills
• Communication/Social skills
• Safety awareness skills
• Independent Living skills

Seeking someone who is reliable, personable, is able to work independently, and preferably possesses computer skills. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly preferred but not required. Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency. Please respond with resume or summary of experience.

Candidates must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. Internet access and a valid email address are required. 

Summer Hours Needed:

Weekdays: 8:30am-5:30pm (except Thursdays staff are needed until 7:30pm)

Weekends: Flexible, not required

School Hours Needed (starting September 2023):

Weekdays: 5:30pm-7:30pm

Weekends: At least one weekend shift per week

Pay rate: $25.50 per hour
