Job Title: Telecom Expense Management Specialist
The Telecom Expense Management Specialist will report to the head of the Technology Business Management Office within the IT Strategic Spend and Productivity team within Northern Trust. Telecom Expense Management is responsible for managing the telecom inventory and billing processes that support the business’ strategic goals.
The Telecom Expense Management Specialist is responsible for the full lifecycle of telecom expense management, including network asset inventory management, vendor relationship management, and financial baseline and forecasting of network spend. The role will work closely with key members of Northern Trust’s Network and Finance teams and collaborate with a third party billing managed service provider.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
• Maintaining accurate telecom asset inventory across the global environment
• Collaboration with Network team and third party billing management partner, to track moves, adds, and changes
• Performing inventory analysis and recommending changes in support of resource optimization efforts
• Collaborate with Network and IT Finance teams to develop and maintain capital and expense budget plans, and ensure financial performance is on target with plan
• Analyzing the financial impact of network projects
• Produce reporting and dashboards for Senior Management
• Facilitate benchmarking
• Provide recommendations to third party service providers on managing telecom estate
• Work with third party billing partner to resolve billing issues
• Ensure audit requirements are met for specific contracts
• Understand and ensure compliance to regulations
• Provides guidance around effective system utilization to meet business requirements
• Work with Procurement team on contract negotiations, RFPs, and vendor relationships
• Liaise with partners and peers throughout the organization
Desired Skills
• 5 years professional experience in a telecommunications expense management function
• Advanced knowledge of telecom expense management processes
• Advanced knowledge of supplier and asset management strategies and best practices
• Solid knowledge of telecommunication services and networks (voice, data, mobile, etc.)
• Excellent communications skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be self-motivated, dynamic, and able to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
