We are looking for:

Advanced Systems Group LLC. is seeking an experienced Global Event Operations Technician to support our client, a technology company. This role is based at the New York office and requires on-site presence. Working closely with the AV Experience Team, the GEO Technician will provide support for live events, assist with coordination and intake, and offer remote support to global partners. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, a self-starter attitude, experience with installed audio-visual systems, and proficiency in event production equipment operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and leadership for the planning, scheduling, and delivery of live event production services.
  • Manage vendors from contract to delivery, report on performance, availability, and risks, and act as a liaison between vendors and internal partners.
  • Fulfill roles such as Executive Producer, Technical Director, Show Caller, or Project Manager for assigned events globally.
  • Implement our client's standards, manage technical resources within budget and client support schedule, uphold service level agreement standards, track team metrics, report event issues, and complete detailed event reports.
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio-visual and videoconferencing equipment in conference and training rooms.
  • Troubleshoot client laptops prior to events to ensure optimal presentation experience.
  • Contribute to and adhere to Standard Operating Procedure documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions.
  • Continually seek opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and deepen client and cross-functional relationships.
  • Assist in coordination and ticketing within project management tool (Jira).
  • Lead discovery calls with customers and provide thorough documentation of customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma with 5 years prior work experience, and 7 years working knowledge in audio-visual equipment including lighting, sound, video recording, data projection, and experience with technical challenges in an event production environment.
  • Knowledge and skills in supporting various services including video conferencing, audio conferencing, local audio reinforcement, video and graphics technologies, video recording, camera operation, Internet broadcast video streaming, network infrastructure assessment, set design, and IT operations and support.
  • Experience in sound reinforcement, digital mixing consoles, wireless microphone systems, audio production, video switching systems, video format, resolutions, video signal flow, basic stage/broadcast/event lighting systems, and DMX lighting systems.
  • Familiarity with Adobe suite (Premier, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Google Workspace suite (Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides).
  • Ability to learn and work in various business applications for scheduling, project tracking, vendor management, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends, ability to work in-person at Our client's office location, and travel domestically and internationally to support event execution.
  • Strong interest in technology, agility in learning new products and features.
  • 1-3 years of customer support experience in a technical environment.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

Technical Requirements:

  • Project Management Tooling: Jira, Slack, Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides), Keynote
  • Video Conferencing and Event Platforms: Google Meet, Zoom, StreamShark (Internal streaming platform)
  • Audio Visual Systems: Crestron, Yamaha QL1 / CL1 and similar digital audio consoles, vMix, Blackmagic, Analog Way, Barco Switches, AJA, Decimator converters, Shure Wireless Microphones, Grand MA Lighting Consoles or similar lighting desks, Various models of Intelligent lighting fixtures

Compensation & Benefits:

This full-time role offers a salary of $100,000-$130,000 depending on experience.
