SUMMARY
Sr. TEMPEST Engineer/Certified TEMPEST Professional Level-II (CTP-II) – Sr. TEMPEST Engineer to help oversee API TEMPEST Test Services group in accordance with testing to applicable government standards and test techniques. Job will entail developing TEMPEST Test Plans, Test Reports and other test documentation for these jobs and oversee and help train apprentice test personnel as necessary. The Sr. TEMPEST Engineer/CTP-II will act as the Company Appointed TEMPEST Authority (CATA) for the Test Services group and reports directly to Director of Test Services. Applicant should have the following basic skills:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of typical RF lab test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Receivers, Antennas, Amplifiers, Multi-meters, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical manuals.
- Read and/or develop and understand the TEMPEST test plan including test setup, test modes, test messages, and test monitors.
- Oversee installation of the Equipment Under Test (EUT) in the shielded enclosure in accordance with the test plan and current Test Standard. Knowledge of TEMPEST/1-92, 2-95, 01-02, 1-13 standards preferred.
- Work with customer to develop test plans and verify that the EUT is installed for test and operating correctly in all test modes.
- Oversee that the lab detection system test equipment is in calibration and that it is operating correctly.
- Oversee test setup ambient measurements and detection system sensitivity measurements are correct.
- Oversee the tests are in accordance with the approved test plan and the current test standard as specified in the SOW, quote, and PO.
- Review test graphs and data and import into test reports as necessary.
- Oversee the test results and work with test lab Engineer/Technician.
- Work with customer on EUT modifications if applicable, i.e. install filters, electronic components, shielding, etc. if necessary and verify that the EUT modifications perform as required.
- Prepare Final TEMPEST Test Plan and Test Reports as necessary.
- Attend engineering meetings as required.
- Able to use secure AIS Thin Client/Server and be familiar with Microsoft Office software and tools.
- Some travel may be required (minimal).
- Minimum SECRET clearance necessary.
- Active NSA CTP-II certification necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job may lead to Lab Supervisor/Director responsibilities.

Note: Candidate should have active US Government TEMPEST CTP-II Certification.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree (B.S.) or equivalent or two year college, technical school or military training; and 10 years related experience and/or training. Government CTP or CTTA training considered.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to reduce data using RF conversion and correction factors to calculate final measurements (Voltage, current and power measurements). Ability to apply concepts of basic RF calculations and mathematics.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with multiple programs simultaneously (multi-task) without losing focus of individual customer response.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CTP-II required. Active SECRET clearance preferred.

SALARY
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Future Managers are eligible for API Bonus Program.
