Position Purpose:

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Patient Relations Representative to join our ambitious team and help us drive top talent to our organization. Under the direction of the Practice Manager, the patient relations representative is also responsible for providing face- to-face quality customer service to all patients and coworkers while accurately organizing, processing, and completing all patient registration, medical records, and referrals duties. This position will serve on teams to provide quality and patient-focused healthcare.

About this position

  • Work Location: Cary at Dorcas Plaza (173 High House Rd, Cary, NC 27511-6715)
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00an – 5:00pm (No Remote Option at this time)
  • Required Travel: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Our patient relations representatives will have the comprehensive ability to apply Advance Community Health customer service, principles, techniques, and practices of healthcare. Serves as the first point of contact for patients and ensures patients and visitors are promptly and warmly greeted and provided quality service. Responsible for the coordination and timely follow-up on all patient referrals to other medical sites. Responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and retrieving and posting documents as needed or instructed. Analyze patient charts, understand how to maintain medical records, scan documents, and indexing into the Electronic Health Record.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Greet and check-in patients promptly, efficiently and in a professional and timely manner, while practicing patient confidentiality.
  • Register each patient by obtaining, verifying, and inputting all required information accurately into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Collect and correctly post payments in accordance with ACH Cash Management protocols.
  • Accurately balance and close out cash drawer daily; make deposits as needed.
  • Schedule, confirm, reconfirm, and reschedule patient appointments when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of all program events and participant interactions.
  • Function as secondary point of contact for inquiries, requests, and communications from external partners.
  • Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with external partners, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed effectively.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of High school Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years related experience working as a receptionist or front desk
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare experience
  • Bilingual
  • Front desk experience in a medical or dental office
  • Non-profit and/or community health experience
  • GE Centricity or EHR system experience
  • Experience multi-tasking while providing quality customer service.
