Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home care setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Implement individualized care plans and ensure the safety and well-being of each individual
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and any changes in condition
- Promote independence and encourage the development of life skills
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity is upheld
Experience:
- Previous experience in senior care, working with people with developmental disabilities, or similar roles is preferred
- Familiarity with home care or patient care procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
- Basic understanding of vital signs monitoring is beneficial
- Experience in childcare or caregiving is advantageous
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education or certification)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals and their families
