Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to join our team. As a Development Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's fundraising efforts and ensuring the success of our development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about nonprofit management and making a positive impact in the community.
As we expand to add a second location in the Winter of 2024, the Adult Day Center of the Black Hills will need to raise funds to support our capital projects as well as our continued growth. We believe we offer a unique resource to caregivers and their loved ones with disabilities. The demand for our services will continue to increase as awareness is spread throughout the community.
Duties:
- Manage and maintain donor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, vendor coordination, and attendee management
- Conduct research on potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities
- Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and strategies
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to manage social media platforms and create engaging content to promote fundraising initiatives
- Submit grant applications
-Create a Community Outreach plan to create awareness in our region
- Identify and build relationships with potential major gift donors
- Assist in budgeting and financial tracking for development projects
- Coordinate with external partners, such as law firms specializing in wills trusts estate law, for planned giving programs
- Provide administrative support to the development team as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in databases and donor management systems
- Experience in social media management for nonprofit organizations
- Knowledge of event planning best practices
- Familiarity with fundraising principles and techniques
- Excellent research skills to identify potential donors and funding opportunities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for proposal writing and public relations purposes
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Knowledge of budgeting processes for development projects
- Understanding of nonprofit management practices
