Council Mission
Florida Airports Council mission is to represent Florida’s airports through a shared vision and unified voice, effective advocacy, and professional development to sustain and enhance the role of airports in Florida’s economy.
Position Overview
The Executive Director is responsible for overall administrative responsibility of the operation of the Florida Airports Council pursuant to and consistent with the policies established by the Board. All activities must be aligned to the mission of the association. The position has responsibility for the overall association management including a comprehensive oversight of the revenue cycle, the staffing model to operate the council and the external relationships with the Board of Directors, stakeholders, membership, and agencies with the highest level of customer service to which allows the Council to exercise its fiduciary responsibilities in support of the member needs. The majority of the Executive Director’s time will be spent in Tallahassee traveling throughout the state meeting with membership and supporting Council events and initiatives.
Delegated Authority
To operate the Council in accordance with the approved budget and bylaws.
May enter into contracts in keeping with the Council’s Purchasing Policy and enforce provisions of contracts, in consultation with FAC attorney and Executive Committee, as necessary.
May represent the Council before public bodies, serving as liaison for the Board with outside entities.
Areas of Oversight
Board and Stakeholder Relations
This position will maintain positive working relationships with the Board of Directors and Stakeholders to conduct the business of the Council with the highest levels of professionalism. Meetings, events, and communications will be facilitated between these parties to ensure accurate and appropriate information is shared in a timely manner and in full transparency with the board of directors.
Governmental Affairs and Advocacy
This position will coordinate state and federal aviation issues with all parties influencing or impacted by the current issues. This role monitors activities, directs lobbyists and attends appropriate meetings to build and maintain relationships, facilitate communications and act as the liaison between parties involved. Stakeholders include but are not limited to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Executive Office and Aviation Office, the Governor's Office, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Orlando Airports District Office, as well as Regional Office and National Headquarters, state and federal level lobbyists, Partner associations (AOPA, FABA, ACI, AAAE, NATA etc) and internal FAC committees.

This position is responsible for the efficient and effective oversight of both the Florida Airports Council and the FAC Education Foundation through the comprehensive management of the following:
