Primary ResponsibilityThe Senior Director of Marketing is tasked with spearheading marketing initiatives and overseeing preparations for the launch of Adaptimmune's inaugural commercial product. This role involves crafting and implementing a comprehensive commercial strategy while fostering effective collaboration with key cross-functional partners. The responsibilities extend to developing both the marketing strategic plan and its tactical execution. Additionally, the individual is accountable for engaging external experts, advocacy groups, and other pertinent stakeholders.
In tandem with these marketing responsibilities, the incumbent is entrusted with the establishment of an inclusive, vibrant, and positive organizational culture. This encompasses the ability to create an environment where each team member feels valued and empowered. Key Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates and evolves the brand strategy for sarcoma, including creation of both strategic and operational plans
  • Analyze and assimilate market data/intelligence and incorporate findings to develop strategies and tactical plans
  • Keep up to date with all new information/data for the brand and its competitors and utilize the information to provide a competitive advantage for the brand
  • Drive the development and execution of an innovative and successful brand plan; working with internal stakeholders, partner company, external vendors, and leveraging relationships with opinion leaders in the market
  • Develop and manage relationships with global colleagues, Key Opinion Leaders (KOL), and key professional and patient advocacy organization
  • Lead the development of marketing materials and ensure timely approval of materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead efforts to seek broad input in the development and delivery of promotional, educational, disease awareness and sales campaign materials
  • Provide appropriate Commercial support for all early development oncology pipeline programs
  • Develop and lead Commercial Training development and execution
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors Science degree, MBA preferred, or relevant education
  • 8-10 years of biotech/pharma brand marketing experience with minimum 4-6 years of experience in oncology marketing
  • US oncology marketing or Rare Disease experience
  • In-depth understanding of the US oncology marketplace
  • Proven experience working on strategy development for a marketed or soon to be marketed brand
  • Positioning, messaging, segmentation, targeting and scientific strategy development
  • Strong analytical skills, including previous experience working with forecasts and analyzing market research results
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of marketing programs
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to senior level management
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Successful budget management
  • Exhibit high capability at working collaboratively, thinking strategically and operating effectively in a rapidly evolving and competitive marketplace
  • Demonstrate high level of integrity in decision-making
  • Act decisively and quickly while aligning with multiple stakeholders

Travel is expected, should be able to attend conferences, customer meetings, and internal meetings
