Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) which includes analytical work and review of financial records. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities: Performs cash management operations involving payment receipt, processing, deposits, and other duties to ensure that all bank transactions are processed accurately and timely into the accounting system. Manages credit card applications, charges, and employee expenses. Ensures activity for assigned accounts/areas are recorded in conformity with Company policy and U.S. GAAP. Performs general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, accruals, and prepaid expenses. Assists in the development and/or enhancement of policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the accounting function and organization. Assists in the maintenance of key financial systems including Microsoft Dynamics Great Plans and Management Reporter. Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. Assists in preparation for financial and bank audits. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations. Collaborates with various functional departments as appropriate. Develops and maintains working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company. Maintains patient confidentiality and functions within the guidelines of HIPAA. Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required. Maintains compliant with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program and applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols. Performs other related duties as assigned.
